-
Carbon Consultancy
Carbon consultancy is a service offered by specialist organisations that can measure and evaluate the carbon emissions of a large-scale organisation. The first step that a company should take when tackling its emissions and sustainability, is understanding where and how carbon is emitted. Once you have a clear picture of your carbon emissions, you can start to make changes and improvements.
-
Scope Qualification
It’s vital to understand the difference between Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions and how they impact your business, because there are different technologies and strategies for tacking each kind.
To help you understand more, here’s one of our Senior Sustainability Consultants, Jonathan Anstey, to explain more.
-
Carbon Road Mapping
Carbon road mapping outlines a strategic path toward carbon reduction goals. Taking into account your Scope 1,2 and 3 assessment, our team will be lay out a clear path towards net zero for your organisation. Our team will highlight how investments in certain technologies will bring this future closer to reality, making your sustainability targets achievable and cost effective.
Funding Sustainable Initiatives
Our team has in depth knowledge of the most important funding schemes that are available to UK businesses, having supported hundreds of applications for grants and financial aid for sustainability projects. Our team will be able to identify the most appropriate schemes for your organisation and move forward with an application.
-
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
PPAs are one of the most powerful instruments a business can use to access sustainable technology without paying a premium. With a power purchase agreement, you will not incur any upfront payment when it comes to investing in technology such as solar panels or wind turbines.
Sustainability consultants help negotiate and structure PPAs to ensure competitive pricing and renewable energy procurement.
-
Fully Funded Installations
A fully funded project can be achieved through the use of a PPA meaning the total cost of a project is met by an investor, typically a renewable energy investment fund who then recovers their cost through selling the renewable energy generated to the energy user.
-
Finance Lease Options
Lease financing can be applied to an energy efficiency or energy generation project and are typically structured so repayments are less than the gross energy cost saving. This means that a project is cash positive from point of installation with the total of the asset passing to the energy user at the end of the term.
-
Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs)
A PPA is the agreement between two parties to buy and sell power. A CPPA is a PPA but the generation will not be local to the energy user’s facility, meaning that the power does enter the grid and therefore attracts any non-commodity charges that apply.
The team at OEM can assist in sourcing a suitable CPPA to match your corporate objectives around net zero whilst also being negotiated with knowledge of your trading position.
-
Demand Side Response (DSR)
Demand Side Response is a win-win for your business and the grid. It is a simple way of managing and balancing the electricity grid by providing financial rewards to businesses that turn down or cease their non-essential energy consumption during periods of peak demand.
-
Heat Pumps
The green alternative to gas boilers. To meet the UK’s net zero targets, approximately 8 million buildings must make the switch from gas boilers to greener alternatives, and Heat Pumps are an excellent alternative. Heat Pumps are electrically powered devices that extract heat from the air, ground or water from outside a building and convert it into usable heat. By using refrigerant-filled tubes with low boiling points, Heat Pumps can warm buildings even in winter temperatures.
